Pooja path daan pun bhavein jeevan bhar koi karda rahe;
Lahevanda samajh ke sauda nis din chatty bharda rahe. Hora khatar apne sir te lakkhan dukhrhe jarda rahe; Kasht uthaye nhera dhoye ram ram nit karda rahe. Poora murshad je nahin milya kaaraj ik vi sarna nahin; Avtar mile gur poora jis nun us ne jammna marna nahin. |

One may keep on worshipping (deities), reciting holy scriptures making donations in cash and kind throughout his life;
He may keep on taxing himself in religious ceremonies, considering the same as profitable. He may keep on suffering in numerous ways, simply to follow others; He may keep on torturing himself, groping in the dark and repeating the name of God (on his own). He will not achieve any object unless he finds the True Master; Avtar says, the one who finds the perfect True Master, he shall no more enter the cycle of birth and death. |
Meaning
One may keep on worshipping, reciting Holy Scriptures making donations in cash and kind throughout his life. One may keep on demanding himself in religious ceremonies, considering the same as profitable. One may keep on suffering in numerous ways, simply to follow others. He may keep on punishing himself, groping in the dark and repeating the name of God daily One will not achieve any object if one doesn’t find the True Master. Baba Avtar Singh ji says, the one who finds the perfect True Master, will not get into the cycle of birth and death.
